Fes : Around 23000 candidates are facing the regional exams under the banner of equity

The Certification exams, those rites of passage that seal the scholarly destiny of thousands of students, have started this Monday 26 May 2025, in an atmosphere of hope and rigour.  In Fes, no less than 23000 candidates, both enrolled and independent, are crossing the doorsteps of the 81 exam centres under the vigilant watching eyes of the authorities. A perfectly tuned mechanism where each actor –from the ministry to the law enforcement- is working with precision to ensure the smooth running of these decisive tests.

In front of Moulay Idriss The First centre, in Zouagha district, the security set-up impresses with its efficiency. Police officers and auxiliary forces  filter the entries methodically. The zero tolerance policy is put in place for all technological attempts : Phones, smart-watches and other electronic tricks are strictly banned from these sacred enclosures of knowledge. « Our mission is to ensure equality of chances for all » affirmed a monitor, while a candidate nervously fidgets with his convocation.

Emotion runs high among the parents who came in support. One mother clasps her daughter’s hands tightly, her gaze betraying a mix of pride and anxiety. "Our whole year has led up to this moment," she confides in a voice heavy with seriousness. A few steps away, a father whispers encouraging words to his son: "Believe in yourself—you’ve got all the cards in your hands." These scenes repeat themselves, variations on the same theme of parental love and the aspiration for success.

Among the candidates, faces reflect diverse strategies to deal with what is at stake. (H.B.), a 17 years old, prays discretely before walking through doors : « May god bless my parents and guide my pen ». To her side, (A.K) shows a calculated determination : « My professors have given all the arms, it is up to me now to use them well ». These young people embody the culmination of a school journey and the hope for a promising future.

The anti-fraud system, constantly refined, deploys its multiple layers of protection. Royal gendarmerie in rural areas, police forces in urban zones, supervisory commissions—every link in the chain contributes to this collective effort to uphold educational fairness.

On the media front, Universitatv website, true to its educational information mission, sensitively captures the many dimensions of this event. Its reporters faithfully convey the emotion of these opening moments: “One feels here all the solemnity of the moment,  but also the confidence in the system”, notes our on-site reporter (H.T).

As the sun continues its arc over Fes, the testing rooms become the silent stages for intense thinking. Two decisive days where individual and collective destinies are played out —where merit is the only acceptable currency. In every page filled, in every problem solved, it’s the future of Morocco that is being written, one answer at a time.
