Mohamed Amansour: A new creative journey between the two covers of "Cine Club

During the activities of the International Publishing and Book Fair in Rabat in its 28th edition, readers of the novelist and critic Mohamed Amansour were surprised by the release of his new novel, “Cine-Club-” (2023).

The novel tells the story of Younes, who decided, after getting his divorce in France, to come back to Morocco in order to find his brother Ilyas who has disappeared in unknown circumstances, help Roukaya his brother's wife sitting in jail, and making his first movie who's topic would be the mysterious Saleh, the prophet of Amazigh people. After all, that was his father's death wish, and the last words he spoke before passing away.

Amansour takes us then to an adventure with Ilyas, in Meknes, Rabat, and then to Chile where his brother was last seen, all while recalling his past life in the Soviet Union and in Paris, and his childhood in the Cine-Club of Meknes.

The novel brings the question of identity to question by discussing Arabism and Amazigh, Islam and Judaism, Palestine and Israel, all while referring to various forms of art, love, and lust.

This novel, is an opportunity for the readers to dwell in their own identity, and their opinions and positions all while getting to know the others.
